Why London is a Great Place for Travelling
London is a fantastic place to visit. Steeped in history with dozens of top class attractions and things to do for all the family, it’s great for a weekend city break or choose a longer stay to really get under the skin of one of the world’s great capitals. London is also, perhaps surprisingly, easy to get around thanks to an excellent bus, tube and train network while the centre is quite compact making it easy to walk between many of the sights.
London accommodation is plentiful, reflecting the huge number of business and leisure visitors to the city and London’s enduring popularity. Some of the biggest hotel chains can be found here and London has a variety of truly top class, deluxe hotels – with high-end prices to match! There are also many boutique and designer hotels offering London accommodation with a twist of extra design and style.
Many of these hotels are located in the West End, close to the heart of the city and within walking distance of the big attractions you will have on your itinerary. Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament, Covent Garden and a wide range of world class museums and galleries are just some of the must-see sights of the capital.
Remember too that London has many ‘villages’ that are also home to smaller hotels and bed and breakfasts. Prices are likely to be less than in the centre of the city and you can get a feel for real local neighbourhoods and communities.
Another great option is to stay in a holiday apartment London. London can be an expensive place to stay, especially if you have to add on the cost of buying lunch and dinner every day. By deciding to stay in an apartment you can choose to cook your own meals, potentially saving lots of money on eating out. An apartment also gives you complete flexibility about when to get up and when to have your meals. And rather than have just one room to relax in you can spread out a bit more. Apartments can have several bedrooms making them ideal for families or groups of friends and a really cost-effective option. Like hotels, city apartments London still come with the range of extras you might need such as baby cots, while parking is often available too. In addition to the city centre locations, apartments can be found in many of the capital’s best neighbourhoods such as Kensington, Fulham and Chelsea, giving you a chance to live the life of a well-heeled Londoner for a few days.
Looking again at hotels, another good London accommodation option is the budget hotel chains. They offer a more basic range of services but still provide excellent, quality places to stay at more affordable prices and often in good and central locations.
Whatever the size of your wallet, or your accommodation preference, London is undoubtedly going to have a large range of places to stay to choose from. 🙂 – Travel Feeder, your ultimate photo travel blog
London is a phenomenal place, you need about a week there to really take everything in. There are always going to be expensive places to stay in London, the trick is to find the cheaper places. A good place to look is Lastminute.com where you can find some bargain deals, i recommend it! Otherwise try travelodge or premier inn
