Travel Snapshot – Prayer in Notre Dame Cathedral
Today’s snapshot I took on my travel is the interior of Notre Dame de Paris, or Notre Dame Cathedral, which means Our Lady in French. Notre Dame Cathedral is one of my pick of Top 5 attraction in Paris. It is a catholic cathedral sits beside the River Seine in the 4th Arrondissement (district) of Paris city centre, further east with 30 minutes of walking distance if you are coming from the Louvre Museum.
Photo Exif: Nikon D60 with Tamron SP10-24mm. Widest setting of 10mm focal distance. 1/8s shutter speed. f3.5 Aperture. ISO 400. Exposure compensated -1EV. No Flash fired. Auto White Balance.
Camera flash light is strictly prohibited inside the cathedral but I still saw a few tourists firing up their flash gun like no man land! 🙁 I respect the religious culture and those who are paying worship to their god. Modern DSLR has no issue on this as those cameras can always capture dark scene without firing flash but still will look nice (in fact it will look even nicer without artificial flash lighting). My Nikon D60 could do the job just nice. With a couple of test shot to get an ideal exposure compensation, I finally got this one with satisfaction. Try looking at those stained glass details, the pendant lighting, the internal architecture detail, the ceiling and devoters inside, they look gorgeous to me!
