Travel Gadget – Lowepro Cirrus TLZ15 & Nikon D60
I have talked about why you should carry a camera waist belt bag, why you should carry a DSLR on your travel, and now I’m going to show you which camera waist belt bag I have been using for my Nikon D60 DSLR.
I love waist bag as I found it so easy for me to carry along on my travel and it will free up both of my hands for other stuffs. It is just perfect for me to wander around towns and streets without looking like a tourist, or less likely to be noticed and targetted by robbers. Moreover, waist belt bag is attached by wearing our waist belt through the bag itself so we don’t have to worry about the bag strap or strap hook being given way!
In other words, the waist bag has to be of highest quality to prevent torn and camera drop! It also has to be fit to my belt size to limit movement, and being big enough to fit my D60 with lense attached while being small enough to feel like nothing on my waist… 🙂

How does the camera fit with the 55-200 attached? Is it big enough, or little tight then? I have a D5000 and I’m not sure if TLZ15 or TLZ25 is the better choice for me.

- March 16, 2010Hi there. I’ve actually tried the TLZ15 with 55-200mm VR version attached and it’s still fit in nicely. Non VR would have some rooms. TLZ25 to me is a bit too big to carry around easily on your waist. D5000 is same size as D60 so I think shouldn’t be problem as well. 🙂
Hi! The D5000 is actually half-an-inch thicker than than the D60 (80mm vs. 64mm) and my D5000 with 55-200 VR lens attached comes to 7.0″ total length (180mm). The specifications for the Cirrus TLZ15 show an internal compartment of only 6.5″. From first-hand experience, do you think there is enough room for that extra 1/2-inch? I’d love to go with the smaller TLZ15 over the TLZ25 but want to make sure my setup fits, of course!
