Top 5 Reasons To Visit Or Not To Berjaya Hill (Bukit Tinggi) Resort

Sorry, this should be the final post for Chinese New Year, instead of Chap Goh Meh – The Last CNY Celebration Photos. I thought of dropping this post before as I felt paying RM10 (USD2.70) per pax as entrance fees to visit Berjaya Hill Resort is rediculous and not worthwhile. However, downloading and reviewing photos taken from the resort had me changed my mind. I found that it ‘s still worth to visit the resort, IF, someone is planning to take some breathtaking scenery and flower photographs for his portfolio and he has not been there.

Why I say so? Here are my 5 reasons why someone should or should not visit Berjaya Hill for reference before any decision made:-

1. Berjaya Hill used to called as Bukit Tinggi Resort when it first launched. Despite the name change, nothing else has been changed since 10 years ago when I first visited the hill. The main attractions are still Colmar Tropicale, the french styled walking street with hotels, restaurants and shops, and the Japanese village with also a botanic garden, restaurant and luxury resort home. That’s about it. Not much to see and Genting Highland is not far away from it. Why should I pay RM40 for my family to go up there and nothing much to do while Genting Highland is Free to visit anytime??
   
2. As claimed by Berjaya Hills, it covers 16,000 acres of rugged hills and mountains crowned with lush tropical rainforests and situated 2,700 – 3,500 feet above sea level with cool and fresh air. I didn’t feel it! Furthermore, same as Berjaya Hill with 40 minutes’ drive from Kuala Lumpur, I would rather get a much cooler and refreshing air at Genting Highland at 6000 feet above sea level;
   
3. Everything is expensive! Hotel rooms at Berjaya Hill are selling even more expensive than Genting highland. If you think having lunch there would be great with breezing air and bright sun then forget about it! It’s hot at lunch hour and the F&B is not cheap at all! So, what would you do other than snapping a few photos?
   
   
4. However, provided blue clear sky prevails, there are plenty subjects and flowers to test your camera. The resort has some how maintained the site very well, at least. Buildings are repainted regularily with vibrant colours and there are complimentary (or have already included in the entrance fees)shuttles transporting visitors to and fro in between Japanese village, French village and Rabbit park;
   
5. Fortnately, there are many seafood restaurants next to it at Kampong Bukit Tinggi nearby. Because of the weather, water and soil quality, fish dish, vegetables, and fruits grown and sold there are more tastier and fresher. For me, I would not have been to Berjaya Hill if we did not have our CNYcelebration lunch at the village. 🙂

Nevertheless, I had a good time there with my family. We went to Kampong Bukit Tinggi for our CNY celebration lunch and Yu Sang. After that, we paid (unwillingly) RM140 for my whole in-law family to go up to Berjaya Hill resort. All children were so happy walking and running around and ladies were so excited to claim their flower balloon from the clown! – Travel Feeder.
