Top 10 Countries for Year 2011 Travel by Lonely Planet
The Lonely Planet‘s Best in Travel 2011 travel guide book is out! Many of their recommendation sections are very much anticipated especially the Top 10 region to travel, Top 10 Cities to travel to and Top 10 Countries to travel to in Year 2011. Malaysia was recommended by Lonely Planet last year as one of the Top 10 best value destination to visit in year 2010. This year’s list is definitely another set of new faces that are equally exciting.
Where in the world should you go next year? As quoted by Lonely Planetβs latest book: Best in Travel 2011, below is summary of the top 10 countries for next year based on scores for topicality, excitement, and value for money, and for the first time, in order of rank. This is only an excerpt from the original articles by Lonely Planet.
- Albania. – I hope I could visit Albania on my Europe travel next year.
- Brazil.
- Cape Verde.
- Panama.
- Bulgaria.
- Vanuatu.
- Italy. – This is the only country here that I’ve been to. π
- Tanzania.
- Syria.
- Japan. – Japan is always in my travel wish list!!
What about the Top 10 cities that worth planning for a visit? Lonely Planet picked the following, with ranking order:
- New York, USA. – Check out New York’s top 5 attractions and its’ Top 5 street foods to try also.
- Tangier, Morocco.
- Tel Aviv, Israel.
- Wellington, New Zealand.
- Valencia, Spain. – I’ll need another green check again on Spain travel for my Europe travel next year! π
- Iquitos, Peru.
- Ghent, Belgium. – Hopefully I could also drop by here while I’m in Brussel next year.
- Delhi, India. – Air Asia has new carriers flying to Delhi now.
- Newcastle, Australia. – I will definitely visit Newcastle while I travel to Sydney.
- Chiang Mai, Thailand. – Another hot spot in Thailand that I’d love to travel to, one day.
Also Lonely Planet has recommended the Top 10 Region of countries to travel to in Year 2011:
- Sinai, Egypt.
- Istria, Croatia.
- Marquesas Island, French Polynesia.

I haven’t been to most of the above destinations. The world is so huge and there are so many exciting placing travelers could go and explore. But our life is so short, time to travel is getting lesser, and our money is getting smaller in value. π At least I’ve put them all into my travel wish list.
