Tohoku 311 earthquake in Japan 2nd anniversay

The Great East Japan Earthquake or the 2011 Tohoku 311 Earthquake hit the Tohoku region in the afternoon of March 11, 2011, was one of the worst tragedy ever happened in Japan. Tsunami triggered had sadly took away tens of thousands of lives in Japan as well as led to the nuclear plants explosion and radiation leakage that forced the local people evacuated from their villages around Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Plant in Fukushima Prefecture. Consequently, economy of Japan was badly hit with record low number of visitors traveling into Japan in 2011. Read the complete stories in Wikipedia.

2 years have passed and 5 days ago was the 2nd anniversary of the tragedy.

What have we done to support the country of the rising sun? Though many of the Tohogu area are still in a mass, other areas of Japan have already back to the state of how they used to be before 311. Foreign travelers visiting Japan will not be affected at all and most of the Japan best attractions are also at their best.

Shibuya, Tokyo

I have at least contributed my support last year to visit Japan twice in 6 months and have blogged numerous interesting posts about Japan.

A lot have been changed in Japan for the past year.

New government led by the new prime minister Shinzō Abe has successfully control Japan currency to a new low level. Now Japanese Yen(¥) is almost 25% cheaper if compared with the rate I exchanged a few months ago. This is a good news to travelers planning a visit to Japan. Perhaps it is the best time to visit Japan this year. If I were to visit Japan now, I could save up to USD1,000 for my trip if compared with how much I spent for Japan just 3 months ago!

Radiation level in all parts of Japan is reportedly back to normal, except the close proximity of the meltdown nuclear plant in Fukushima, which has been blocked and inaccessible by tourists anywhere.

We should start thinking of a trip to Japan now as their currency is so low that instead of spending  USD5 for an udon soup 3 months ago, you will only need USD4 now!

Great Traveling season in Japan has started.

Spring is already around the corner and Cherry Blossom has started to bloom in Southern parts of Japan. Cherry Blossom viewing (Hanami) is one of the best activities traveling to Japan in Spring and catching the full bloom of Cherry Blossom in Hakodate is surely one of my best experience in travel so far.

If you are planning to visit Japan during Autumn, Koyo or Autumn Colour viewing is another great experience. I’ve seen the best of Autumn colour on my second visit to Japan last November and it was definitely another unforgettable experience any traveler could ever have.

Besides sightseeing, there are plenty more attractions that Japan has to offer. Japanese food is one of my favourite ever tasted on my travels. We can’t rule out the expensive cost to shop in Japan as the unbeatable service provided and politeness of their people have made shopping in Japan another great experience.

Don’t let the  311 incidence stop you from visiting Japan. With the low Yen(¥) currency rate and low airfares offered by both Airasia and MAS, book your flight tickets now and start planning your Japan tour! 🙂 – Travel Feeder
