The only thing better than actually going to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, is telling the kids the surprise. Everyone deserves to visit at least once in their life because it really is the place where dreams come true. There is so much to do that you will probably have to come back again for the bits you miss.
Divided into six parks; Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Epcot, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, it is recommended you spend at least two days in each.
Beyond the parks are beauty spas, golf courses, and horse riding trails, a state of the art sports complex and two night-time entertainment areas. Not forgetting the 20 different resort hotels which could be a holiday experience on their own.
The sheer size and depth of the Disney experience is staggering. You might wonder how you will ever get to see it all but don’t worry, Disney has it all worked out for you from airport transfers, meals, transport and Florida holiday planning the only decision you will have to make is what order to do everything in.
Tickets
Walt Disney World Resort takes care of every detail for you. The tickets have been designed especially for guests from the UK and are ultimately flexible to suit your needs. There are two types of pass available one aimed at people staying for between two and three weeks and the other for those wanting to stay for five to seven days. Also, don’t forget to take advantage of Disney’s FASTPASS system which tells you when to come back to a ride rather than wasting time queuing.
Magic Kingdom Park
This is the quintessential Disney experience where fantasy comes to life. The park is designed like a wheel of a bike with Cinderella’s Castle at the centre. Roads lead away to the six other areas, all full of adventure offering the chance to meet your favourite Disney characters.
Epcot
Twice the size as the Magic Kingdom, Epcot is divided into two areas; Future World and World Showcase. See what Nemo has been getting up to since the movie, become a secret agent, shoot into space or fly like a bird above California then travel to 11 different countries around the world. It’s a mixture of high-tech, fantasy, fun and cultural diversity.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Here you are offered the chance to see the magic of Hollywood and Disney combined. Expect to see live stunt displays, dazzling Broadway style shows and a few Disney character stage performances. There is also the opportunity to experience the excitement of the Aerosmith roller coaster and the scary Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park
Here, you have the chance to get up close and personal with some of the beautiful and exotic animals in seven different lands from around the world, then travel back in time to save the last dinosaur and climb Mount Everest, but beware of the legendary Yeti.
Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park
This experience is truly unique as you splash around the winter wonderland while basking in the Florida sunshine. With lots to do for the whole family it’s an ideal place to relax and work on your suntan.
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park
This time the water world is set in a tropical paradise with fun for everyone. While the day away floating through cool caves, snorkelling with real sharks and making a splash on the water roller coaster.
Hotels
The 20 Walt Disney World Resort hotels, all with a unique theme, are divided into four categories: value; moderate; deluxe; and deluxe villa. All have special guest benefits on shopping, discounts and moderate and deluxe properties have access to special viewing areas for the end of day firework displays.
