The Basic Yet Essential Travel Tips List
We all want the perfect holiday, especially because we work so hard all year for it. But what can you do to make it perfect? Lots goes into planning holidays, so any help and advice that you can get is a sure way to taking steps in the right direction. Here are some basic, yet essential travel tips to keep in mind when planning any holiday.
Budget Wise…
Savings is an obvious thing to do before going on holiday, but you can also trick yourself into saving a bit more. A good tip is to make a separate mini savings for a “just in case” situation. We don’t always plan on getting hurt, wanting to do an activity we didn’t know about, or missing a flight. Don’t get left without any extra money. Worst case scenario, you already saved a bit for next year’s trip!
Going with the cheapest isn’t always the best. It can cost you more in the end. If they swindle you or simply “forget” to tell you about extra fees. Be weary of the extraordinary “deals.” Getting the middle priced package can be a safer bet.
Try to DIY when possible and plan for a Free and Independent Travel. Booking tours will get pricy. More convenient? Sure, usually they are. But they will be guaranteed price too. Many situations can be managed yourself, and thus saving you a bundle. Not to mention it’s way more adventurous and you can often skip out on the crowded times when bus loads of tours come through.
Safety Wise…
Going back to the cheapest option, not only might it not end up being cheaper in the long run, by cheaper can mean less safe. Sometimes the super cheap route can end in disaster if the equipment is damaged or old. Beware!
We all want to think that we are in a special bubble when we are on holiday. Nothing bad can happen when you’re in this bubble. The reality is, something can happen anytime. Getting travel insurance for a single trip is the easiest way to give yourself a peace of mind trip.
Time Wise…
If you’re a stickler for the budget and plan on doing things on the dime, good for you! Just take into account the time. Will you be spending one-third of your holiday on buses, trains, and planes? It’s worth to weigh out the time VS money so you can actually enjoy your holiday and not just transport yourself through it.
On a similar note, don’t plan to do too much. You can have plenty of ideas on your plate, but shoving them all into your holiday will have you pulling your hair out. Less is more. Have a few backup spots you would like to add IF you have the time.
Let’s add that the time of year you go travel is very important as well! In some countries like Europe and Japan, going during off season could be a great deal for your wallet, but you also might be spending time in your hotel a lot because of bad weather, or worse, dangerous natural disasters. Some places have shoulder seasons which are worth looking into. The weather is usually still decent, and the prices not sky high. Check the local weather extended forecast would be a handy for your holiday planning! – Travel Feeder
