Explore the natural beauty of Africa with a Kenyan Safari
When we dream of an African holiday and watching the big game on safari the country we are dreaming of without even realising it is more than likely Kenya. This country more than any other typifies all that we know and love about safari holidays in Africa.
Kenya certainly has a lot to offer and for a country smaller than France it offers snow capped mountains, desolate deserts, ancient tribes, golden beaches, lush rainforests, colourful coral reefs and the very best wildlife to be found in Africa.
Wherever you go in Kenya you are sure to be greeted with stunning landscapes and none more so than in the country’s National Parks. Kenya’s National Parks are home to some of the very best wildlife you will find anywhere in Africa or the wider world.
Perhaps the most famous of the Kenyan National Parks is the Masai Mara. The park is known across the world for its large population of Big Cats, elephants, buffalo, black rhinos, giraffes, crocodiles, hippopotami and wildebeest. Each year the park witnesses The Great Migration, which is considered one of the greatest natural events in the world. Each year around 1,300,000 wildebeest, 500,000 gazelles, 200,000 zebras, 97,000 topi and 18,000 eland leave the Serengeti around July each year and head north in search of fresh pasture to graze, then around October they begin their great trek back south. Unfortunately for these migrants they aren’t the only ones on this epic journey, hungry predators such as lions and hyenas follow them closely.
The best way to catch a glimpse of these magnificent animals is to take a Kenya safari. On a safari you can see animals in their natural habitats and view them in a way it would be impossible to do by visiting a Zoo. Seeing an elephant walk in front of your truck and watching a lion on the prowl are sights that will stay with you for ever and are truly priceless moments. It’s with little wonder then that such African safaris are becoming a more and more popular holiday choice, they certainly offer you more than your average beach holiday in Spain. – Travel Feeder, your ultimate photo travel blog
Kenya is definitely the place to go for a safari if you are wanting to see the big 5. I sometimes wonder if the people who do a standard safari at Kruger know what they are missing out on.
