Travel snapshot – The great budget Gyudon meal in Japan
One of the most challenging parts of traveling in Japan is to find a Japanese restaurant that will not burn a deep hole in our pocket! This is the general perception from many of the budget travelers. Well, it could be right or wrong. While it is right to say that a proper and full set of Japanese meal will cost you dear, it is also right to say that a set of delicious Japanese food will not cost you bomb! Japanese fast food restaurants are some of the example of great budget eating in Japan.
And this Gyudon (Beef Rice Bowl, 牛丼) meal I had in the Chikara Meshi restaurant in Osaka cost me only ¥290! How about that?
Chikara Meshi is a relatively new fast food chain found in many cities of Japan including Tokyo and Osaka. While Yoshinoya (吉野家) is the popular and long running Gyudon fast food chain in Japan, Chikara Meshi Gyudon is equally mouth watering great!

The best part of Chikara Meshi Gyudon meal is its fantastic cheap price tag! A basic Gyudon with miso soup cost me ¥290 with a portion just nice for a quick lunch, or dinner.
If you have a large stomach to fill in, there are also many other set meals to choose from, and the prices are all reasonable for a Japanese fast food. If you are not fancy about beef rice, there are many other great and cheap eating places in all over Japan. I had personally tried a Ramen dish for ¥200 and Sushi dish at ¥105 at Shinsaibashi, Osaka Namba. I will share them with you in future.
