The best time to travel Langkawi is with LIMA Exhibition
Langkawi island is a famous little resort island located off the mainland of northern state of Kedah in West Malaysia. It is one of my Top 10 places to visit in Malaysia well known for its beautiful beach resorts, duty free shipping, historic treasures and also the marvelous gift collections of Tun Mahathir house in his Perdana Gallery.
But when is the best time to visit Langkawi? If you are planning a trip to Langkawi, now is the best time. Why? LIMA is now on in Langkawi island!
For a total of 5 days from 26th until 30th March 2013, Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition or LIMA, has proven to be an excellent platform for aerospace and maritime manufacturers and related industries to display and promote the latest aerospace technology. During the 5 days period, live aircrafts demonstration shows are being performed for the public which is the highlight of the event that attracts thousands of visitors.
Every two years LIMA becomes the focus of local and regional attention. First held in 1991, Langkawi International maritime and Aerospace Exhibition is one of the Asia’s most prestigious aerospace, maritime, and defense events.
Visitors travel to the island during this 5 day event will have the best opportunity to enjoy both the live airshow and exhibition at one go, as well as drinking the cheapest liquors in Malaysia at night clubbing along the Pantai Cenang beach.
In terms of accessibility, tourists can reach Langkawi island via ferry from Kuala Perlis in the mainland or by flight from Kuala Lumpur. Both the local budget airlines, AirAsia and FireFly flies to the island regularly.
What would be best is after visiting Langkawi island, another jewel of the east, Penang Island, famous for its fantastic sandy beach, multicultural experience, and off course Penang local foods, is awaiting you not far away from Langkawi Island… 🙂 – Travel Feeder
As someone who loves nature, I have to disagree.
I believe visiting Langkawi during LIMA will reduce the chances of me enjoying the island to the fullest. There’s just too many people during LIMA
