Merry Christmas 2009 From Travel Feeder!
3 days to go! In case I miss the exciting moment, allow me to wish you and all readers and fans of Travel Feeder….
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Though we are an Islamic country officially, Christmas is an important holidays in Malaysia. No only fellow Christians celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ on Christmas Day, non-Christians or other Malaysians, in fact people in the whole world are celebrating it as a festive seasons where friends and relations are exchanging gifts, greeting cards, treating a special meal, displaying Christmas decorations and lighting. Shopping complex in Kuala Lumpur are all spending big budget to decorate their premises and fascades to celebrate Christmas while attracting more businesses during the season.
I love the setting in Time Square KL especially. “Snow balls” are “dropping” from above over the whole concourse area and the performance stage is decorated with snowy-white houses and Christmas trees. Dancing shows are performed during the weekends. Again, I shot all photos below with my favourite Nikkor 35mm f1.8 AF-S DX normal lens. 🙂
However, I still prefer white Christmas and still miss my first ever white Christmas in Scotland 12 years ago. So, I twisted the White Balance (WB) of the rest of my photos in PS Elements 6 and I got back my white Christmas feel! It’s simple. Just auto correct the colour temperature and further de-saturate the ‘yellow’ stream and that’s it!
A 3-storey high Christmas tree is on display. Though it’s not as tall as the one in KLCC Suria but still looks gigantic.
It’s snowing time… Again, I have displaced the warm halogen lighting to snowy white!
Does it feel like snowing and freezing cold?
Back to Auto WB again for this gift stall as it will look warm and feeling like at my home… 🙂
It’s always nice to have gift-giving and exchanging gifts in Christmas Day. Better be quick. Amazon is offerring Gift Cards for your friends and family. You still have time to get it printed out or emailed to you. While you won’t lose any penny, it will help me to earn some commissions for my next trip to Europe! 🙂 Or else, please subscribe to my RSS feeds for Free updates of my travel stories here. - December 22, 2009.-= June´s last blog ..What is the “best” resume format when one significant technical experience but no college degree? =-.
Merry Christmas!
Do you usually set your white balance in camera? I usually do that (using a white pringles cap). If still not accurate (and since I shoot in RAW), I will correct it post processing.
- December 22, 2009@June,
Thanks. Oops! Did you mean the tree?
@Mei Teng,
- December 23, 2009I used to pre-set my camera WB at every occasion but found that troublesome and it’s still not always the WB I want. Now, I leave it to Auto WB. If I love to have different ambience like those Christmas lighting, I just change it in PS. 🙂
Yes. Shooting RAW is easier to adjust colour temperature via RAW converter. I used to shoot all RAW but now… too lazy already. I couldn’t imagine how am I going to convert 1000 photos of Phuket trip if I shot all RAW… 🙁
