Lufthansa new direct flights from Malaysia to Europe
This is surely a good news to Malaysian travelers who have been dreaming of flying to Europe for vacation. In addition to the existing 2 only direct flight options offered by the national carrier MAS and Air France / KLM, we have now a third full fledged carrier to operate direct flights from Malaysia to Europe. Lufthansa new direct flights from Malaysia to Europe will be departing this Summer, 30th March 2014!
The biggest airline in Europe, Lufthansa will be switching the previous flight from Kuala Lumpur to Frankfurt to a non-stop flight, five in a week. From Frankfurt, Germany, travelers would have a choice of onward connection flights to more than 170 destinations in Europe and beyond. Read the announcement from Lufthansa website here.
Here are some of the Keynotes being summarized from the article:
The Lufthansa new direct flights from Malaysia to Europe will be flying Airbus A340-600, which is equipped with eight seats in Lufthansa’s five-star First Class, 48 seats in the Business Class and 270 seats in the Economy Class.
Frankfurt not only offers the widest choice of destinations all over Europe, but was also recently honoured by Skytrax as the airport with the most improvements worldwide.
Lufthansa’s new A-Plus terminal area and the optimal flight and transfer times put them in the pole position in Malaysia for flights to Europe.
Lufthansa started flights to Malaysia since 1980 with a stop-over in Bangkok. Due to the current demand in Malaysia, the positive economic growth, the successful investments of German and European companies in the region and the successes of Malaysia as a top tourist destination, the introduction of the new direct flight option between Malaysia and Europe is considered as timely.
These direct services augur well for the Visit Malaysia Year 2014. Lufthansa will start the new flight right on time for Formula 1’s Grand Prix of Malaysia and will open up a new era of its presence in Malaysia.
And even better, Lufthansa is currently offering an introductory fare from as low as RM2,500 only for this direct flight from Kuala Lumpur to Frankfurt. The new flights can be booked as of now via www.lufthansa.com and all the other booking channels. Hurry up! The sale will end in a week time by 31st March 2014.
Until AirasiaX’s long haul flights to Europe are back in action, possibly by next year, Lufthansa is perhaps the best, if not the cheapest direct flight option to Europe from Malaysia. That said, if you don’t mind indirect flights with a stop-over, Emirates, Qatar or Etihad are still the cheaper options to consider.
