Lonely Planet’s Best In Travel 2019 picked Copenhagen as the top city to visit in 2019. I can see why, why it was not chosen until now. From its prominent role as the administrative and financial capital of Denmark, Copenhagen has now transformed itself into a modern, vibrant city full with cultural elements since the last decade. These lively characteristics attract tourists from all over the world to come and visit Copenhagen.
If you are traveling Copenhagen next year, you will be spoilt for choice with the numbers of Michelin class restaurants, cultural events, hippy cafes, shopping regions and so much more that it has to offer.
Off course, Copenhagen’s famed destinations and iconic landmarks in city central are still excellent to visit. I’ve visited the Nyhavn Waterfront, Tivoli theme park, Copenhagen City hall, The little Mermaid and so on. Not to mention the Carlsberg City, the original brewery factory turned museum of the world’s renown beer, located a few train stops away.
For party lovers, Spring and Summer are the best season to visit Copenhagen. Various cultural yearly events are organized during the season. ‘Distortion’ outdoor multiple-days party that I’ve visited is something that you won’t be able to experience elsewhere.
If you like pastries and coffees as much as I do, traditional bakeries in Copenhagen will surely satisfy your taste buds. Just don’t fly home without buying home some cookies for yourself.
I enjoyed my travel to Copenhagen very much. It is safe to travel solo here. And if you are coming from the hustle and bustle from the big cities, you will finally be able to breathe some fresh air here and enjoy the relaxing pace. Don’t get me wrong though. Copenhagen is far from being dull. People living here are just knowing how to enjoy lives.
