Travel snapshot – The Atomium Bruxelles photo
Which is the most iconic building you should look for visiting Brussels, Belgium? While most advocate the Grand Place, some may argue that it should be the Atomium. Atomium is undeniably the most unique building you can see in Brussels, or even Europe. Here is the Atomium Bruxelles photo that I snapped on my travel to Brussels.
Atomium is one of the most popular travel attractions in Brussels. It was constructed in 1958 in conjunction with the Brussels World’s Fair, the world exposition. Measuring 102 m in overall height, it consists of 9 stainless steel cladded spheres of 18 m in diameter that resembling the shape of a unit cell. All spheres are inter-connected with escalators and lift provided to allow access to all the five habitable spheres.
Inside the Atomium are exhibition halls and other public spaces. There is a restaurant at the top sphere which provides breathtaking panoramic view of Brussels in good weather.
From the Atomium Bruxelles photo above, you can see there is a square in front of the Atomium which turns into lively carnival during weekend. Huge crowds are seen during weekend with both foreign and local visitors flocking in for various activities including live performances, eateries and children playground.
For those who are planning a trip to Brussels for the first time, the Atomium is one destination that must not be missed. The Atomium is located in the Northern part of the city of Brussels, a 5 minute walk from the Heysel / Heizel metro station (line 6) and right opposite Mini-Europe. – Travel Feeder, your travel photo guide
