Travel Photo – Sydney Opera House Lighting During Vivid Sydney
After sharing my travel photo of Harbour Bridge, as promised, here I’m sharing the photo of the Sydney Opera House. It is another Sydney’s iconic structure that shines vividly at night during Vivid Sydney Light, Music and Ideas festival.
The lights of Vivid Sydney 2019 just went off after 11.00pm yesterday night! Nonetheless, memories and images of the festival shall remained deep inside us. I will share them here on Travel Feeder, the ultimate travel photo blog.
The Sydney Opera House
I captured the above photo with Nikon D7000 and Nikkor 35mm prime lens attached and on tripod. Photographed in Programmed Auto mode, with Shutter speed 15 sec. Aperture f4.5. Focus distance was fixed at 35mm. ISO 100. Auto White Balance. No flash fired and No exposure value being compensated with Matrix metering. This photo was post processed with Adobe Photoshop Element. I captured the Sydney Opera House at night from Circular Quay. The main focus of this photo is off course the iconic man made marvel, the Sydney Opera House, canvassed over with artistic light projection.
If there’s one place in the world where inspiration shines bright, it’s Vivid Sydney. Returning for its eleventh year from 24 May – 15 June 2019. Vivid Sydney is Australia’s most loved and awarded festival brings together light artists, music makers and brilliant minds to share their creativity with you.
Sydney Harbour Lights
Harbour Lights turns the waters of Sydney Harbour into a light spectacular, with many vessels moving across the water in a gentle, synchronised lighting display.
The work is designed by 32 Hundred Lighting and uses a satellite-navigational grid to coordinate lighting changes; as vessels adorned with brilliant LED lighting pass through parts of the grid, colours change simultaneously – and each little vessel becomes part of a coordinated display that moves across the colour spectrum as they move across the harbour.
Many commercial operators participate in the installation, enabling their passengers to enjoy Vivid Sydney while offering an additional perspective: the stunning light reflections that dance upon the water.
