Travel Photo – The Grand Place, Brussels
This is another photo of the Grand Place in Brussels, shot in the morning. The earlier photo posted was shot at night. I like both of them. Grand Place is the ‘must visit’ destination in Brussels. Not only travelers, local people love to gather here on weekend for celebration, marriage proposals, and other activities. Painters and vendors selling painting and flowers are spotted here.
Some EXIF info: Photo taken with my Nikon D7000 and Tamron SP10-24mm UWA lens. Shot in Program Auto mode, with Shutter speed 1/250 Sec and Aperture f8.0. Focus distance was set to 11mm. ISO 100. Auto White Balance. No flash fired and No exposure being compensated with Matrix metering.
Grand Place is also the centre square of Brussels city where many attractions and good eateries of Brussels can be found nearby, such as the Manneken Pis, Neuhaus chocolate, Belgian waffles and moules (mussels). Bright lumination at night is also an attraction for photography hobbyists.
The Grand Place is safe to visit at night. However, avoid walking through those quiet back lanes when you leave the square to go back to your hotels, as there might be someone waiting to rob ‘You’ down there! This may sound scary but I’ve heard too much of it and I personally, though was not robbed, followed until I walked into my hotel and the guy turned away!
Having that said, Grand Place is one of the most frequented travel destinations in Europe, albeit Belgium has been without government for more than 480 days since the last national election. 🙂 – Travel Feeder, your ultimate photo travel guide to Europe
Hi travelfeeder, I need your opinions about my issue here.
I own a D60 since 2008 but only did my best using 18-55mm the kit lens. last year i bought the 55-200mm zoom. only since i bought my second lens i started to use my camera to the fullest.
I’ve been juggling either getting d7000 like you did, or stay with D60 and get more gear and lenses like wide angle, portait (which i’m really looking forward to) to improve my skills.
I thought about getting D5100 but it’d be the same thing all over again because it’s quite an entry-level and internal improvemnt in D7000 really have my eyes on it.
So.. what do u think? should i get more lenses with d60 or get a d7000?

@amr21,
You yourself should know whether you need an upgrade on your camera body. If you know what are the short coming of D60 in terms of image quality if compared with d7000, and you can really see the difference, then it’s the time for you to upgrade. If you think (as you mention) you haven’t made full use of D60 since you haven’t got enough lenses to explore its potential, then buy more lenses first. Lenses are more important than body and they can last longer. Bodies will get upgrades in every 1 or 2 years. Since D7000 released more than a year ago, you can wait for its upgrade probably in a year time. Remember this: The more you try to overcome the shortcoming of your current camera body, the more you would appreciate when you upgrade it one day. 🙂
