Travel Photo – Teluk Anson Leaning Tower, Malaysia
Italy has the world famous Pisa leaning tower, while Malaysia has Teluk Anson leaning tower, though its is far less known to tourists visiting Malaysia. It is located in Teluk Intan (still being called as Teluk Anson or Anson Bay among locals after the British protectorate era), a town located in the state of Perak in Malaysia.
Teluk Anson Leaning Tower was erected in 1885 by a Chinese builder, Mr. Leong Choon Cheong. It started to tilt towards Southeast 4 years later due to an uneven ground settlement. The tower was originally used as a water storage tower and beacon to guide ships into Teluk Intan Port. It is now a local tourist attraction. Measuring 25.5m high, a clock made by J.W. Benson of Ludgatehill London is installed at its top.

I detoured my Penang journey and drove 45 minutes from Bidor exit of North South Highway to get to Teluk Intan for this shot. Off course, we had the famous Chinese herbal duck soup noodles as our lunch in Bidor before that. – Travel Feeder, your ultimate photo travel blog
