Travel Snapshot – Dotonbori shopping district, Osaka Namba
If you are planning a holiday to Japan, Osaka is the city you must spend some times in, especially Osaka Namba. Being a downtown full of entertainment, shopping and dining areas, Namba is simply an area that never sleep! We stayed in Dotonbori during our visit to Osaka, which is in the heart of Namba with Namba train station and Shinsaibashi shopping district within a very close stroll away.
No visit to Dotonbori Namba is complete without taking a picture of its beautiful night city view lit by colourful neon signs, such as this one that I took…
Some EXIF info: Captured with Nikon D7000 and Nikkor 18-105mm lens attached. Shot in Program Auto mode, with Shutter speed 1/60 sec and Aperture f3.5. Focus distance was set to 18mm. Auto ISO 220. Auto White Balance. No flash fired and -1/3EV exposure value being compensated with Matrix metering.
Basically there is little skill involved in taking this nice picture. Most importantly is to get a decent camera. Sometimes, some scenes, until a stage, skills of a photographer will be limited by the capability of his camera. This is why professional shooters will choose to use Nikon D800 instead of D3200, eventhough D800 is 5 times more expensive than D3200!
I was lucky to have the Nikon D7000 with me in Japan. Its 16.2MP CMOS sensor’s capability in capturing low light signals, and EXPEED 2 image processor in reproducing colours with the help of 2,016 pixels RGB sensor, have helped me to capture this striking night scene of Osaka Namba, effortlessly! 🙂 – Travel Feeder, your ultimate travel photo guide.
