Travel Perception – Tree or Tower? Close or Far?
Sometimes, our purpose to visit one travel destination is actually for another destination. And sometimes we go to one travel scene to see another scene. Or sometimes we are at one place but looking out for another place at far. These are our travel perception that tell us what to see and where to see on travel. But how far do you see things on travel? I’ve talked about another perception on how close do you see things on travel but it is on another perspective of view.
Just look at the above travel photo snapped on my Paris tour. What do you see in the photo? The trees in front? Or Eiffel Tower at background. Because we love Eiffel tower so we will spot it first even though it is so tiny in the photo frame.
Same with our purpose in visiting certain travel destination. We climb up the stairs or taking the lifts up to the roof top of Eiffel Tower because we know we can oversee the fascinating Historic Axis of Paris city layout. Not because of the beauty of the tower roof top, nor the magnificent engineering design of the structure. Not at all. We go up to see elsewhere.
Kintamani of Bali is so famous not because of its buffet lunch at the highland (though it was quite nice), it’s because we can see the smokey active volcano Mount Batur and Lake Batur from there.
My friends like to visit me at home, not because they like here, or my home eco (though we do like my beer stock in fridge! π ). They like to visit me for my home balcony, from where they can capture the beautiful night scene of Kuala Lumpur city skyline!
This is my personal perception towards travel. It happens to our life as well. We don’t care things that are around us. We like to see things that are too far away and untouchable. We don’t appreciate what we have got now. Instead, we always seek something that is not ours and almost unreachable. Don’t look too far for something or someone that are either unreachable or belongs to someone else. Appreciate things and people around you and are behind you to support.
