Travel Photos – Iconic Tokyo Skytree At Night and Dawn
I’ve got a huge backlog of travel photos to clear! Normally, I took over a thousand pictures on each of my every overseas vacation. From the overview of a tourist spot to the minute details of every perspective of it, I just love taking photos! Though not all of them worth or suitable to be shared here, they indeed keep my travel memories intact. I vow to share more of them here in the short future! This is my biggest resolution of the year!
After sharing my travel photos taken in Busan, here are a few photos taken in Japan instead. I captured the Tokyo skyline at night and dawn from where I was staying. The main focus of these photos is the iconic Tokyo man made marvel, the Tokyo Skytree, and Sensoji Temple in the Asakusa vicinity.
Tokyo Skytree and Sensoji Temple At Night
I captured the above photo with Nikon D7000 and Nikkor 10-24mm ultra wide angle lens attached and on tripod. Photographed in Program Auto mode, with Shutter speed 25 sec. Aperture f11.0. Focus distance was set to 24mm. ISO 100. Auto White Balance. No flash fired and No exposure value being compensated with Matrix metering. This photo was post processed with Adobe Photoshop Element. The highest structure in Japan measuring 634m high, Tokyo Skytree (東京スカイツリー) is a new television broadcasting tower and latest landmark of Tokyo. It is the centerpiece of the Tokyo Skytree Town in the Sumida City Ward, not far away from Asakusa and Sensoji Temple. It is also the second tallest structure in the world at the time of its completion.
I took this long exposure shot from my room in Richmond Hotel Premier Asakusa International, which offers an unobstructed view over the Asakusa and Sumida city ward skyline. Strategically located just 50m away from Asakusa Tsukuba Express train station, it is a nice hotel with great vibe in it and Sensoji Temple is another stone throw away!
What made this night image astonishing is the contradict lighting colours from 2 of the most iconic man made marvels in Tokyo, the Japan’s latest Tokyo Skytree and the oldest Sensoji Temple. Despite the fact that they were built in 2 different eras with an age difference of over 1400 years, they both look amazing at night!

This is another shot from the same angle in the same hotel room but at a different time of day. I woke up early and captured the city skyline during morning twilight.

Last but not least, I’m sharing here another photo of the same cityscape, with the starburst pattern of thsun rising. It represent the nation. As how often Japan is being referred, this is the land of the rising sun!
This is the main advantage of staying somewhere with an unobstructed view. You can easily capture one great scene with various lighting conditions of a day. I love it very much. What do you think? Please comment if you like them too… – Travel Feeder
