Travel snapshot – Jagalchi Fish Market of Busan
Before I share my travel stories around Nampo-dong and Jung-gu of Busan city centre, here is one of my travel photo snapped at the famous Jagalchi fish market.
Jagalchi Fish Market is located in Nampo-dong of Jung-gu, Busan, South Korea. It is the largest seafood market in whole Korea.
As seen from the above picture, most of the vendors selling seafood in the market are women. They are called ‘Jagalchi Ajumma,’ ‘ajumma’ meaning middle-aged or married women.
This scene caught my attention as huge numbers of various clams are being sold here, and they are all fresh! It was an interesting scene as all clams are stacked in bowls which made it easy to be picked up by customers.
Jagalchi Fish Market is off course famous for its fresh fish. Inside the wet market, visitors can pick their fresh fish and restaurant will cook them and serve it in the restaurant.
On my second day in Busan, we went to Jagalchi Fish Market in the morning to have our grilled fish “brunch”, before strolling down the street to other attractions in Jung-gu including the Busan Tower. If you are interested in knowing where did I go and what I have done and seen in Busan, watching this blog for new update. I have a lot of nice travel photos of Busan to show you!
