Travel by Photos to Keukenhof Tulips Garden, Natherland, part 2
If you want to know more about the travel stories and facts of the garden, check out my Keukenhof Tulips Garden travel Part 1 and also The Reason why you should visit Keukenhof. Or if you haven’t plan anything for this year yet, check out Travel tips on why you should start planning your next summer holidays now.
This is the Part 2 of the story on my travel to this magnificent travel destination in Spring, just in Spring between March to May where it would be the only blooming period of the year for tulip flowers. This part contains mostly some of the very exciting and colourful photos under perfect sunlighting that I took in the garden last year. Hundreds of photos have been taken there and I had a really hard time to shortlist those that I should put up here.
Here are some shortlisted photo highlights that I think whoever see it will immediately fall in love with the Keukenhof garden. Don’t worry. Just start booking your flight to Amsterdam this Spring! It’s not too late, though it would be much cheaper if you have planned it much earlier. Full set of photos can be viewed in my Flikcr Photostream HERE.
The ‘Queen of Nights‘ tulips species which is also my favourite coloured tulips.
Keukenhof garden feaures only only tulips but also beautiful parks with lots of trees and lakes.
There are ducks swimming in the lake.
There are also cafes and restaurants at every corner of theΒ garden. Visitors can the a rest before continuing to explore the garden.
When there is a sudden change of colour in the sea of greens, this red leaves tree poked out to my attention.
If you want to capture a sun burst effect, like the one above, stop down your camera Aperture f-number to F22 then you will get this similar result, or even better. π
How you want your tulips flower to be captured? If you love to capture details of all tulips in the photo frame, from front to back rows, stop down your camera Aperture setting to F22 and you will get clear and sharp details of them.
Otherwise, open up your camera’s Aperture to F4.5 and you will get the shallow depth-of-field with only the row of tulips that you focused is sharp and clear, which also created a sense of depth to your subjects. (Note: The colour and brightness difference of both the above photos are not due to different Aperture setting but a different photo editing action is applied)
Is it a swan or a goose?
If you like serenity, Keukenhof garden could satisfy you with plenty of rivers, trees and flowers.
Some creative flower arrangement in the park.
Overview…
… and close up.
There are too many different tulips species from all over the world that could be found here. don’t ask me the names as I did not record them down. π
A slight different perspective angle will make all the difference in a photo. Do you agree?
If I could live until the age of these old folks, I would do the same thing as they do, sitting and relaxing in the garden, soaked in the serence environment.
You will need at least 2 hours none stop to walk through every corner of the garden.
There are also decorative sculpture on display. If you like it, you can even buy it home, with hefty amount of money, off course.
If it was a hot afternoon, this ice cream stall would be full of crowds.
“Beatrix” is an indoor exhibition hall displaying all kinds of different tulips species.
Can you read the sign? We could only read the ‘P’ symbols to find where our coach is…
Windmill! We finally saw the Dutch windmill.
Climbing up to the upper deck of the windmill and you could oversee the garden nicely.
There is a small windmill museum within the windmill structure.
Next to the garden, across a small canal is the huge tulips cultivating field. I was there in May when most of the grown tulips were cut for export. So I couldn’t see the trademarked colourful tulips field there. π
If you are too tired of walking and seeing around, you can even stop and take a nap on these ‘Fatboy‘ outdoor cushions.
“When did you snap me, Jean?”
The are even children playground withing the garden which is next to a souvenir shop.
This is the nursery with all the tulips flower bulbs.
I like this giant dutch musical box.
Finally, we found our way out in time to catch our returning coach. We got lost in the garden before that!
Before exiting, visitors could try to make their own souvenir penny by inserting a bronze coin into this machine and start spinning it fairly hard.
This is our souvenir made by ourselves in Keukenhof Tulips Garden!! Enjoy reading! π
