Travel Feeder featured in Searchina, Japanese news portal
Hooray! Travel Feeder and my recent blog post of Top Japanese food souvenirs to buy in Japan is being featured in Searchina, the largest China-Japan information and financial news online portal in Japan! Thank you Searchina! You are my inspiration to keep writing on Japan and other travels in the coming days!
Eventhough they mistakenly mentioned me as a lady traveler from US, I’m still flattered to be able to get mentioned in the highly reputable website. Here is the abstract of the article in Japanese:
“せんべいはライスクラッカーとして米国でも売られているが、味のバラエティは少ない。日本を旅行中、せんべいなどのお菓子のおいしさに感動し、「味だけではなくラッピングも素晴らしい」と絶賛。日本らしい包装が土産物にも喜ばれると勧めている。
観光客は、日本土産はバラエティ豊富で、選択肢がありすぎるため、何を買うかを迷うのだという。そこで、筆者自身が大好きで自分のためにも買うという日本のお菓子を土産物に勧めている。
筆者は、日本ほどお菓子の種類が豊富な国は諸外国に類をみないと高く評価している。さらに価格も百円から千円まであり、どの値段でもかなりおいしいので土産物に最適だと語っており、旅行中にさまざまなお菓子を試し、たくさん購入した様子を伝えている。
すべてのお菓子についていえることは、味もさることながら包装が素晴らしいことだという。京都を訪ねたときにとても美しく包装された日本の伝統的なビス ケットを買ったと記している。せんべいと呼ばれ、米で作られた日本のお菓子として有名で、同僚への土産物にちょうど良いと語っている。標準的なタイプのせ んべいは日本国外でも広く販売されているようだが、日本で売られている見たこともない凝った包装や、ユニークな味に魅かれつい買ってしまったと打ち明けて いる。
