LEGOLAND Malaysia enters Book of Records with the most mandarin orange replicas
If you missed the excitement of this event during the recent Chinese New Year in Legoland Malaysia, here is the recap.
After an exciting month of festive activities and special building events in commemoration of Chinese New Year, Asia’s 1st LEGOLAND Resort wrapped up the celebrations in style with LEGOLAND Malaysia enters Book of Records for the “Most Number of Mandarin Orange Replicas Made of LEGO Bricks”.
The record attempt was made successful with the active participation of Resort guests and the record was officially set with 2,015 LEGO Mandarin Oranges. The building activity commenced in early February to usher in the auspicious Chinese New Year. The oranges were on display at the Park for a limited period until 10 March 2015.
Apart from the record set attempt, LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort also fulfilled the wish of a very lucky guest as part of the Make-A-CNY-Wish activity at the Park. The initiative was held for the first time this year and countless park guests have been displaying heartfelt wishes and festive greetings on the Park’s replicas of the famed Lam Tsuen wishing trees at the Beginning area.
Among the 5,000 wishes that were submitted, the Resort management identified Ms Wong Yoke Lian from Kuala Lumpur as the lucky recipient. Her wish was to bring 40 children under the patronage of Diabetes Malaysia (Johor) to have a day out at the Resort. The organisation received the tickets and meal vouchers sponsorship from the Resort today and was represented by Mr Tan Poi Chuang, Chairman Diabetes Malaysia, Tanjung Puteri branch.
“LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort is always committed to delivering fun and unique experiences for all our guests,” said Mark Germyn, General Manager of LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort. “Chinese New Year is a special time for families and we hope that our festive events will make their celebration of the Year of the Goat an unforgettable experience. 2015 promises an array of unique activities and highlights lined up for our Annual Pass holders and our guests.”
Coming up in March, the Resort will be showcasing a brand new LEGO® Friends LIVE show at the Park. The show will feature a five girl cast from the UK, original LEGO Friends music, and a script that was specially written for LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort. The show will open to public on 14 March and run until the end of June, with three performances per day. An exclusive preview session for Annual Pass holders will be held on 13 March, with a special opportunity to meet the LEGO Friends cast. For more information, log on to: www.LEGOLAND.my
