Happy 56th Independence Day or Hari Merdeka to all Malaysian
Our parents shouted “MERDEKA! MERDEKA!” loud and clear on this date to celebrate Malaysia Independence from British colonial rule 56 years ago. Today, 31st August 2013, all Malaysian are coming out to commemorate this Merdeka or Independence Day for the 56th year. “Jalur Gemilang” or Malaysian national flags are flying everywhere in the country by all people including foreign visitors who love and visiting this country today.

Come and experience yourself what Malaysia has to offer.

I love Malaysia for its diversity in terms of cultural, people, languages, and religions. We learnt to adapt different cultures, religions and languages into our life harmoniously and this inborn ability help me in my early study ages in United Kingdom and now my various travels across Europe, Australasia and Asia. Though not necessarily being our mother tongue, general Malaysian are able to communicate efficiently, if not fluently, with other people in other countries in either English, Malay, Chinese or Tamil. I’m blessed to have benefited from this when I visited Europe, China, Japan, Korea, Thailand and Indonesia. Malaysia is also a global country for the world to come forward with many international standard theme parks such as Legoland, Skytrax’s best KLIA airport, Formula One Grand Prix circuit in Sepang, as well as international star rated hotels including JW Marriots, Ritz Carlton, Shangri-La, Hard Rock Hotel and many others.

I love Malaysia for its diversity in food varieties. Original cuisines from different cultures and races including Malay, Chinese and Indian foods are inherited and adapted here to become our national foods. Local variants of them such as Bak Kut Teh and Nasi Lemak can only found here. On top of that, fusions from them such as Baba Nyonya cuisine are unique and authentic to be tried here only in Malaysia. Come and taste these authentic mouth watering local foods yourself and you will love it.

Last but not least, I wish all Malaysian a happy Merdeka Day and do hope we have a better tomorrow. Please share your thoughts also about this country on this memorable day… – Travel Feeder
