Chap Goh Meh – The Last CNY Celebration Photos
Happy Chap Goh Meh! Sorry, I’m still in Chinese New Year mood. But this would be my last post of CNY. Today is the 15th Day of the new Lunar calender year, or Chap Goh Meh in Hokkien dialect which means 15th Night. It is also known as the Chinese Valentine’s Day! Traditionally, young guys and girls who are still single and looking for girlfriends or boyfrineds, will go to the river tonight to throw a mandarin orange with their names and contact numbers written on it, into the river. It is hoped that their oranges would be picked up by someone they admire!
To celebrate the last day of Chinese Lunar New Year celebration, I posted some CNY photos here:
Dragon Dancing is popular among Chinese community especially during CNY celebration which is believed could bring good luck to business.
Though fireworks are banned all together during the festive season, we could still see someone playing…. (that’s me….) 🙂
Chloe was enjoying her first fireworks session after scaring away for the past 3 seasons…
Last Saturday, the latest shopping mall in K.L., Pavilion, has an CNY Open House cum 1st Anniversary Celebration.
Red and gold… the colour of Lunar Chinese New Year, are dominating the scenes everywhere in our country during these first 15 big days of celebration. I hope everyone would enjoy the atmosphere of CNY as much as I do, from these photos. 🙂
This ends the 15-day havoc in my travel blog. Tomorrow travel log and photos of my exciting travel experience in SuZhou, Nanjing, WuXi and Shanghai will be back in action. Stay tuned! – Travel Feeder.
