Travel Photo – Slanting Buildings in Amsterdam

I just realised when I was writing my travelogue on Amsterdam that I had actually left one of my travel quiz open ended without revealing the answer(or hadn’t I?). It was a travel quiz on some slanting buildings, and the actual answer to it is Amsterdam! Here is the full uncropped version of that photo below. It was shot in front of a row of buildings opposite Damrak, the main street in Amsterdam, and across the canal at the cruise dock.

Some EXIF info: Photo taken with my Nikon D60 and Tamron SP10-24mm ultra wide angle lens. Shutter speed 1/160sec and Aperture F6.3. Focus distance was set to 24mm. ISO 100. Auto White Balance with hue adjusted to boost colour vibrancy. No flash fired and exposure being compensated by +2/3EV with Matrix metering. Image cropped at centre of frame with PS Elements 6.0.

This unevenness  in level is truly an unique feature of architectures in Amsterdam. Behind this row of buildings is where the Amsterdam’s famous spot for tourists, especially men, the Red Light District. I’m going to tell you later.
