Travel photos – Mobile Bratwurst in Berlin
One of my main reasons visiting Berlin earlier this year was to satisfy my craze for German authentic sausages. I was looking around for whatever types of kiosks or shops selling wurst in Berlin and had tried too many of them on my short 2 days stay. Apart from the more popular currywurst which being sold in every corner of Berlin, bratwurst being sold by a guy carrying a mobile flaming hot grill is something new to me.
A bratwurst is a sausage usually composed of veal, pork or beef. Though the brat in bratwurst described the way the sausages are made, nowadays bratwurst is usually grilled or pan fried, and sometimes cooked in broth or beer.
This guy was spotted at the entrance of Berlin Alexanderplatz train station. Cost €1.20 each for a 10-inch-bratwurst in bread with mustard and ketchup spreads, it was definitely something interesting and cheap to try, especially for a sausage maniac like me!
It looks mouth watering and tastes good, if not the best. Currywurst may taste better and spicy, but this bratwurst seemed more feeling as a snack. 🙂
