My Travel Photo on MareMagnum and Port Vell, Barcelona
This is another snapshot I took while I was in Barcelona recently. Nothing to really shout about. I just found this reflection on the fascade of MareMagnum shopping and entertainment mall in Barcelona interesting and took this shot. Maremagnum is the major shopping complex of Barcelona situated in front of Barcelona waterfront of Port Vell. Port Vell is a touristic harbour with 2 marinas, Europe largest aquarium, shopping mall, IMAX cineplex and of course waterfront leisure park. It is connected with Barcelona’s main tourist area of La Rambla, which is a short distance away, with another pedestrian walkway, Rambla de Mar.
You can actually spot me at the lower centre point in the photo, pointing my camera up to the large curvy glass fascade of the mall. I was standing on a wooden deck and a cafe is on my left (of course it appeared to be on my right from the reflection image). You can also see the waterfront facing the sea and the cable car station is at the opposite side. Also in the frame is the Montjuic mountain, the biggest park in Barcelona and one of the venue for 1992 Barcelona Olympic Summer games.
Sometimes it is good to take a shot on the glass reflection if the lighting is right, and the curve design could enhance the perspective view and the high angle did help me to have a clear aerial view of the Port Vell, without climbing up to the roof! 🙂 – Travel Feeder, your ultimate photo travel blog
