China is undoubtedly a large country with so much to offer. Tourists flock here year after year wanting to experience a plethora of cultural, natural attractions, gorgeous views, amazing food, and everything else the magnificent country offers. While there’s an extensive list of beautiful regions, towns, cities, and attractions to visit while you’re on your holidays, here’s four beautiful regions in China that you certainly shouldn’t miss.
Guilin
A epic limestone paradise awaits you Guilin. Regarded as one of the most beautiful places on our planet, it’s easy to see the draw. The serene Li River, karst peaks jetting out of the earth and towards the sky, and lush greenery make for a picturesque day. The nearby Yangshuo and Longsheng are a must see if you’re in Guilin. Yangshuo is a backpackers dream with a chilled out atmosphere, and Longsheng is famed for it’s incredible rice paddy terraces. The Zhuang and Yao cultures that are prominent in this area as well.
Hangzhou
Here’s another gorgeous place, so gorgeous, it’s been dubbed its own saying by the Chinese. They say, “Above there is heaven, below there are Hangzhou and Suzhou.” To describe the beauty is nearly impossible, but the thousands that visit here each year aren’t doing it for nothing, that’s for sure. Peaceful gardens, reflection pools, a placid lake with teahouses, and stunning temples are just a few of the things here that make Hangzhou worthy of being compared to the heavens. Silk and tea are also two popular products from this area, so a visit to the corresponding museums, and hills flanked with the plantations should certainly be on your list.
Huangshan
An UNESCO World Heritage Site and another marvelous and famous region is Huangshan. This is the most photographed and painted mountain region in the country and you’ll see for yourself why. There are hundreds of peaks floating around the region, with green pines sprouted around, and sometimes hazy clouds embracing the tops of the mountains. There are ruins and hot springs, and the major peaks to visit. The most popular are Lotus Peak, Heavenly Capital Peak, and Bright Summit.
For a dose of culture and some great hiking opportunities, the Xidi and Hongcun Village are nearby and certainly worth a visit. Folk houses strewn around a flowing river, and tranquil vibes blanketing the place.
Suzhou
Although not technically naturally beautiful, because some of the amazing landscapes in Suzhou are man made, it’s still worth a visit and a place on this list for your holidays to China and Asia. This is the Chinese village you may have in your mind already. Ancient wooden houses lining the canals of this water town with stone bridges and bamboo huts give this place such charm. The man made facade is mixed with the natural beauty of the traditional Chinese gardens, like Humble Administrator’s Garden. – Travel Feeder
