Australia’s best wines and winemakers will emerge on the Sunshine Coast for what will be a stellar line up for the tenth anniversary of the Noosa International Food and Wine Festival from 16-19 May 2013.
The festival will feature over 200 wines from 40 wineries where the stars of Australian winemaking will share their knowledge with enthusiastic consumers and wine buffs at the many and various wine-focused events throughout this year’s four-day Festival program. It is truly a unique opportunity for people to meet and interact with their favourite winemakers.
Making a welcome return will be Seppelt Great Western as the major wine sponsor of this year’s event.

An impressive list of Australian wine writers and critics will debate and discuss a range of colourful topics at the dedicated Village Wine Marquee, Wine Cellar and the Courier Mail LIFE Annexe including; Max Allen, Huon Hooke, Ken Gargett, Tony Love, Aaron Brasher, Peter Forrestal, Tony Harper and Bernadette O’Shea.
Peter Gago, Chief Winemaker for Penfolds and holder of the prestigious title, World’s Best Winemaker, will preside over premium old world and selected Australian wines matched to eight degustation courses at the Friday Qantas Premium International Dinner. He will also host a special VIP lunch with Penfolds tasting for Platinum Ticket Holders.
The Village Wine Marquee serves as a communal talking spot for Australia’s best wine maestros who will share their extensive wine knowledge each day.
Aaron Brasher, Huon Hooke and Hunter Smith will guide you through the Premium Wine Australia Landmark Riesling Master Class while Peter Forrestal and Andrew Fleming will get in on the Premium Wine Australia Pinot Noir Master Class action. The Festival also welcomes champagne experts Bernadette O’Sheaand the face of Pol Roger, Laurent d’Harcourtwho will deliver some exciting champagne tastings of both vintage and non-vintage champagnes.
Reds, Whites, Sweet Things and Cocktail Making are all on the menu at the Village Wine Marquee as well as a salute to Bruce Tyrrell, head of one of Australia’s oldest, family-owned wineries.
Returning for 2013 is the hugely popular Top Tastes of Queensland Lunch held on Friday 17 May featuring the best of Queensland wines, chefs and produce.
A new edition to the festival program is the Australian division of the World Class bartending competition. Dig your feet in the sand, sit back, relax and help judge the best cocktails ever on Noosa’s pristine shores. And if all that action inspires you to create your own then shake it up in the Village Wine Marquee to perfect your own creation at the Cocktail Making sessions.
So whether you are a wine tragic, amateur tippler or serious wine connoisseur, there is something to delight your palate and passion.
Add another two hundred food and wine personalities, media and producers plus big name entertainers and expect one fantastic Festival celebrating the best in food, wine entertainment and fun.
General Admission Tickets are $40 (adult) or $20 (child under 13), which covers general admission on Saturday and Sunday to Lion’s Park, The Grand Marquee, Celebrity Chef Cooking Demonstrations, The Courier Mail LIFE Annexe and live entertainment.
One of the best ways to experience the Festival is with a Weekend Gold Pass which costs $330 and includes VIP Admission for Friday’s Westpac Welcome Cocktail Party, Saturday and Sunday with entry to hospitality pavilions and preferential concert seating.
