Travel photo – Brussels Mussels
Moules, moules. I love moules, or mussels. The first food I thought of tasting in Brussels was definitely mussels. In Belgium, mussels are normally served with french fries, so they call it “moules frites”. The best way of cooking mussels is to boil or steam it with fresh herbs and flavorful vegetables in a stock of butter and white wine.
There are too many restaurants serving mussels in Brussels especially areas around Grand Place. Beenhouwersstraat or Rue des Bouchers is a pedestrian street full of seafood restaurants along both sides, which is only 3 minute walk north of the Grand Place. Mussels are always served in bowl for a price of €12 per bowl in average. They look ugly but taste marvelously yummy! A must try local delight in Brussels! 🙂 – Travel Feeder, your ultimate guide to Europe travel
Belgium moules are the best I’ve ever had. They are so tasteful and fresh… man I miss them so much.
