CNY 2011 Decorations at Mid-Valley and The Garden shopping malls
Chinese New Year (CNY) or Lunar New Year 2011 is around the corner! According to lunar calendar, Year of Rabbit is falling on the 3rd of February this year and is only 2 days away. All chinese around the world are celebrating Chinese New Year in their respective countries and regions. I’m here in Malaysia also starting toΒ prepare for the new year celebration, though a bit too late.
My family and I went to both the Mid-Valley and the Garden shopping malls in Klang Valley to buy some new cloths and new shoes as part of the CNY culture that symbolize new hopes in this coming year. Off course, I also grabbed this chance to capture some of their CNY decorations around withing the mall public areas.
The main stage at Centre Court of Mid-Valley, which major part of the decorations are put up here.
Red lanterns are being hung up with the multi-storey high bamboo sticks.
A closer look at the lanterns.
In conjunction with the CNY celebration and the mall decorations, individual boutiques are also decorating their shop fronts with lanterns or kinds of decoratives.
Off course, new design arrivals are flooding all those fashion outlets. As you can see, most of them are in red’s… π
Chinese New Year decoration is comparatively simpler and smaller in the Garden shopping mall. Artists are performing traditional Chinese dancing periodically.
To me, the most attractive CNY decoration of all so far this year, is this 4m high red Phoenix made with flowers!
For those travelers who happen to be around KL these 2 weeks, make sure you drop by some of these shopping malls to see how Malaysian Chinese are celebrating Chinese New Year. Most importantly, most boutiques are on sales in conjunction with this CNY. As you can see, most of my photos were taken in Mid-Valley because when I walked over to the Garden, both my hands were already full with shopping bags without any spare for holding my Nikon D7000! π β Travel Feeder, your ultimate photo travel blog
