Travel Perception – Sand Sculpture or Foot Prints?
Many times, when travellers visit a city or country, they will have a first impression towards the place. This first impression is what travellers observed in the first place, whether the travel destination is cool, clean, noisy, safe, friendly or gorgeous. However, it’s still up to the perception of that traveller. One might say the island is sunny while the other might feel it’s too hot! Some would feel the local people are helpful while some others would complain about privacy. Eventually, verdicts of the destination would depend on individual traveller’s own perception rather than the actual situation.
So, the best way to know whether the city or country is good to travel, apart from gathering 100+ comments from others, is to visit the place and look at it from all angles! No other better way. Perceptions of others might be totally different from yours! Try look at something in different angles! Look at the photo below for example…
Do you see a pair of foot prints on the beach, or, a pair of sand sculpture on the beach? One sand is sunken and the other is protruded out…
Still wondering? Yes. It’s a huge sand sculpture made on the beach. With the reflection of lights and shadow, it created an illusion to observer to believe that they are footprints. Same to a travel destination. Some action, decoration or recommendation make you believe that is’s what it is. But the actual fact might be the other way round when you look at it in other ways.
Don’t always believe your eyes. It’s not neccessary what you see. Don’t always listen to what other people tell you. It’s not neccessary your own perception. Don’t believe me? Ok ok, I just made a mickey out of you guys… the above photo is ACTUALLY a pair of foot prints on the beach! Sorry mate… 🙂 – Travel Feeder.
Nice footprints! How did you get the toes protruding from the sand? It has a 3D dimension versus the usual flat one dimensional footprints.
I agree that your personal experience of something is important. Not what others feel or say about it.
- December 17, 2009I thought at first they were footprints then realized that the toes were protruding so it’s got to be a well done sculpture! Very clever!
