Travel Photo – Sunset At Pura Luhur Uluwatu Temple In Bali
This is my second photo sharing of the beautiful scenes after the Kuta Beach photo in Bali. Thrilling is this sunset shot which captured the imperfect cloudy but still brilliantly colourful sunset during the months of raining season. On top of that, this photo stands out remarkably with the silhouette of the Pura Luhur Uluwatu sea temple, clinging itself firmly to the edge of the Uluwatu cliff.

The above Photo is captured with Nikon D7000 and Nikkor 10-24mm ultra wide angle lens attached. Photographed in Program Auto mode, with Shutter speed 1/200 sec. Aperture f7.1. Focus distance was 13mm. ISO 100. White Balance set to Cloudy mode. No flash fired and no exposure value being compensated with Matrix metering. This photo was post processed with Adobe Photoshop Element. View the full size photo in my Flickr albums.
The Pura Luhur Uluwatu temple is one of the 9 directional temples of Bali. It stands 70M (230 ft) up at the top of the cliff at the southwest most point of Bali in Uluwatu area of Bukit peninsula.
Geographically, Uluwatu is one of the top surfers destination in the world. Local Balinese believes that Gods have blessed the surfers who surf the Uluwatu wave, because of how divine and perfect the waves there are.
Apart from being a paradise for surfers, this sacred destination also receives thousands of foreign engaged couples each year. They plan and organize their wedding ceremonies in one of the many luxury resorts here in Uluwatu.
I’ve missed it on my first travel to Bali. So I felt great to have the chance to visit Pura Luhur Uluwatu during the sunset hours this trip. And I have to say, it is as holy as what the above photo implies. A big thumb up to this travel spot and you must not miss it whenever you go to Bali. – Travel Feeder
